Difference Between Harder and Softer silicone

After a few years, TPE seems to be the most popular material for realistic sex dolls, and silicone has definitely regained the upper hand. All of the most recognized brands now include silicone dolls in their catalogs and often seem to prefer launching new silicone dolls over TPE dolls. We believe there are two main reasons driving this direction: price and soft options. First, the price difference between TPE and silicone dolls has narrowed dramatically, to the point where it is not uncommon for the "same" silicone doll to cost only 20-25% more than a TPE doll. Secondly, manufacturers have found ways to make increasingly soft silicone dolls for the enjoyment of true doll lovers.

In this entry, we'll take a look at the different softness levels of silicone dolls available through November 2023.

It's been about a couple of years since the introduction of the "soft silicone" head. Soft silicone heads have a mouth opening, but they are usually slightly less detailed than "regular" silicone heads. In this great video from Irontech Doll, we compare regular silicone heads to soft silicone heads:

The choice here is simple: if you are looking for maximum realism in facial appearance, and perhaps you also want hair and eyebrow implants, then you should go for a "regular" silicone head. Do you want to physically interact with the head? Considering oral sex? A soft silicone head is just the thing for you.

Manufacturers of realistic sex dolls are also confident about launching "soft silicone" bodies. Recently, Silver Dolls appeared at the Guangzhou Adult Fair, where brand representatives were keen to show us their "new" soft silicone dolls. We found these dolls to be really soft, so soft that it was almost unimaginable not so long ago. Here again, we'd like to thank Irontech Dolls for posting a full and honest comparison video between the soft and regular Irontech Doll silicone bodies (as well as a video dedicated entirely to the "soft silicone" bodies, available here):

You can also see a pre-shipment video test of the Irontech Doll 160cm silicone made from soft silicone here:

Please note, however, that this exciting enhancement is not without warning. As described in the Irontech doll video above, soft silicone is easier to dent and compress. Soft silicone gel requires more careful handling than regular silicone gel.

As we mentioned, Irontech Doll's "Soft Silicone" body option is available for free. You can watch a pre-shipment video test of the Irontech Doll 160 cm silicone made of soft silicone here.

Elsa Babe is another manufacturer that already offers a "soft silicone" option to their customers, although not for free.
